Pundit Maniedeo Persad began his insurance career in 1983 with a Reinsurance Company and quickly moved up the ranks to Supervisor, then joined a Major General Insurance Company as Assistant to the General Manager, was the promoted to Assistant to the Executive Director before leaving to form EKTA Group in 1990.
He topped the class in the Scholarship Training Programme at the Academy of Insurance ,completed the Fellow of the Life Management Institute exams with distinction in record time averaging over 93 percent over the ten part course, attempted the ten part exams of the Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute in one sitting on the basis of which he was awarded the Alexander Howden Prize for the most outstanding entry from South America and the Caribbean.
During the period November 2003 until July 2010 , Pundit Maniedeo Persad took leave of absence from the Company as he served as Trinidad and Tobago's High Commissioner to India with concurrent accreditation to Singapore, Japan,Indonesia, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Pundit Persad resumed charge of EKTA's operations with effect from August 1st 2010.
